Experimental Process

Zur-regulated genes were identified by DNA microarray analysis. Zur-mediated expression regulation was confirmed by qRT-PCR experiments. Promoter regions of the identified genes were scanned for the presence of a Zur box by alignments using ClustalW. Also, upstream regions were searched for conserved motifs with the GIBBS Motif Sampler.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
