Experimental Process

The consensus sequence of the PerR-box in S. pyogenes and B. subtilis was used to screen S. suis genome for putative PerR boxes. RT-PCR was performed to validate PerR-dependent transcription regulation of the identified genes. EMSAs showed that PerR could bind to its target promoters. Regulation by PerR in S. suis was confirmed by dpr-GFP promoter fusion.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
