Curation notes
The expression of the metQIN promoter was shown to be regulated by PerR. However, during the submission process collecTF search did not include this operon within the range of the identified genes.

Experimental Process

The consensus sequence of the PerR-box in S. pyogenes and B. subtilis was used to screen S. suis genome for putative PerR boxes. RT-PCR was performed to validate PerR-dependent transcription regulation of the identified genes. EMSAs showed that PerR could bind to its target promoters.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
