Experimental Process

the transcriptional fusion assay results suggested that transcription of the gum promoter, while retaining a high basal level of expression without Clp, is upregulated by Clp. EMSAs using different gum promoter regions as probes showed that Clp binds specifically to the two tandem Clp binding sites of the gum promoter.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
