Experimental Process

The authors validate the binding site of C. difficile Spo0A by analyzing its binding to B. subtilis abrB promoter using EMSAs and performing site-directed mutagenesis. They then predict fully conserved consensus Spo0A sequences in the C. difficile genome and validate some of them with EMSA.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
